Our Wedding

Our story began in 2019, although neither of us knew then exactly where it would lead.We met in Birmingham, exchanged Snapchats and stories, and eventually went on our first date at Chuy’s. By the end of it, we decided we were probably better suited as friends. For a while, that seemed to be where our story would remain.We stayed loosely in touch, our lives continuing along their separate paths, until we found our way back to one another in late 2020.This time, something was different.

01 | 2019–2021

Almost immediately, we learned what it meant to choose one another across distance. Hannah was at UAB in Birmingham, while Mikhaila was at Auburn.When we both graduated in May 2022, life did not bring us to the same city just yet. Mikhaila moved to Augusta to begin her career with Ajax Building, while Hannah remained in Birmingham working in clinical research at UAB.For the next several years, our relationship was measured in long drives, weekends together, and goodbyes that always seemed to come too quickly. Mikhaila made the trip from Augusta to Birmingham whenever she could, and when Hannah accepted a remote position with IQVIA in 2023, we were finally able to spend extended periods of time together in Augusta.

03 | November 1, 2025

Mikhaila Said Yes

Less than two months later, on Christmas Eve, we took another leap and placed an offer on our first home together in Evans, Georgia.We closed on January 30, 2026, officially bringing four and a half years of long-distance love to an end.And, as if the beginning of this new chapter needed one final touch, it snowed on our very first day as homeowners.

Emily and Hannah met at UAB's AGD Chapter, and she has been one of Hannah’s constants ever since. Through College, Emily has always been the person who shows up. She is Hannah's rock, and there was never a question that she would be standing beside Hannah on this day.

Colby came into Hannah’s life through Woodland, and their friendship has been built on shared experiences, humor, and aligned interests. He is the person Hannah can count on for a laugh, whether she needs a new playlist or advise. Having him beside her for this chapter just makes sense.

Two Hannahs, one very special friendship. 

Hannah and 'Yost' met during the Alabama Power Youth Tour, and since then their friendship has included [memories, adventures, life stages]. Hannah has a way of [something distinctive about her], and she has become someone Hannah is incredibly grateful to have in her corner.

Hart is Hannah’s cousin, so their story began long before wedding dresses and seating charts entered the picture. They have shared many family memories together, grown through adulthood, and built a relationship that means great to Hannah. Having Hart beside her makes this celebration feel even more like family.

Mikhaila's Party

Mikhaila and Ally’s friendship began in 2013, when Mikhaila joined the high school marching band as an eighth grader. With her older brother serving as both a senior leader and her ride home, Mikhaila often found herself staying at band camp long after she needed to. Ally noticed and offered her a ride home. That simple act of kindness marked the beginning of a friendship that would become one of the most meaningful in Mikhaila’s life.

Ally was a constant source of support throughout Mikhaila’s teenage years, and their lives came together again at Auburn when they had the opportunity to live together at Unit #37, affectionately known as “The Nest.” Through every season since, Ally has remained a trusted voice of reason, a source of encouragement, and someone whose perspective Mikhaila deeply values.

More than a best friend, Ally has become the sister Mikhaila was fortunate enough to find along the way, making it especially meaningful to have her standing beside her as Maid of Honor.

Mikhaila met Sarah during her freshman year at Auburn, where Sarah was one of the original residents of The Nest. Sarah had recently returned to Auburn after beating cancer, a testament to the strength and determination that Mikhaila would come to admire so deeply in her.

Their friendship began with a memory that still makes Mikhaila smile. Sarah’s hair had grown back short and beautifully wavy, and Mikhaila decided that the obvious response was to give her one of her du-rags. From there came countless memories, including Sarah bringing home a kitten named Cash and, perhaps unexpectedly, turning Mikhaila into a cat person.

Over the years, Mikhaila has had the privilege of witnessing Sarah’s strength, resilience, and determination firsthand. Mikhaila stood near Sarah as she celebrated her own wedding, and it is particularly special that Sarah will now stand beside Mikhaila as she begins this next chapter.

Wendy holds the distinction of being Mikhaila’s oldest friend. Their friendship began in 2006, shortly after Mikhaila’s family moved from Norfolk, Virginia, to Birmingham. A neighborhood bike ride with her older brother led Mikhaila to meet Wendy’s younger brother, Bruce, who invited her to dinner with his family. There, she met Wendy, beginning a friendship that has now spanned more than twenty years.

Their history is filled with the kinds of memories that can only come from growing up together, from riding bikes through the neighborhood and racing one another to school to navigating college and adulthood side by side. One memory Mikhaila still treasures is one of the simplest: shortly after receiving her driver’s license, she picked Wendy up for a late-night trip to Walmart to buy milk. It was an ordinary moment that became unforgettable simply because they shared it.

Today, their lives may place them hours apart, but distance has never diminished a friendship built over two decades. Having Wendy beside Mikhaila on her wedding day is a reflection of just how much of life they have already shared.

Mikhaila and Hailey knew one another before 2020, having crossed paths at gatherings and through mutual friends, but their friendship truly took shape during the months of quarantine. As university life moved online, so did much of their social lives, and a shared love of PlayStation and video games gave them an unexpected opportunity to become close.

What began as late nights and early mornings gaming together developed into a friendship far more meaningful than either may have anticipated. Mikhaila came to know Hailey as someone who encourages the people she loves to step beyond what is comfortable, while never asking them to do so without her support.

Mikhaila was honored to stand beside Hailey on her wedding day. Having Hailey return that gesture by standing beside Mikhaila on hers makes their friendship, and this moment, all the more meaningful.

FLYING INFor guests traveling by air, Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) is the closest airport to the wedding.Guests may also choose to fly into a larger regional airport, Atlanta (ATL), and drive to Augusta, depending on flight availability and pricing. THE GROMME TBD XXXXXXDRIVING INAugusta is easily accessible by car, and having one can be helpful if you plan to explore during the weekend.Once you arrive, though, you may want to leave it at the hotel on Saturday.

GETTING TO THE WEDDING

GETTING AROUND

Once you’re in Augusta, getting around is fairly simple—but we recommend making a plan for wedding night before the first glass is poured.Rideshare services, including Uber, are available throughout Augusta and the Hephzibah area. Because Windsor Manor sits outside the heart of Augusta, we strongly recommend scheduling your ride in advance, especially for your trip back to the hotel after our send-off. Local taxi services are also available if you prefer to arrange transportation ahead of time. If you’re staying at The Partridge Inn, you can leave your car at the hotel and arrange a ride to and from Windsor Manor. If you choose to drive to the wedding, guest parking is available at the venue—but cars cannot be left at Windsor Manor overnight.The bar is on us. The ride home is up to you—so make a plan, celebrate with us, and get home safely.

Stroll the RiverwalkTake a walk along the Savannah River through downtown Augusta. It’s an easy way to get outside, stretch your legs after traveling, and see a little of the city without committing your whole afternoon.Wander DowntownDowntown Augusta is home to local restaurants, bars, coffee shops, galleries, and historic architecture. Start around Broad Street and wander from there—it's an easy option if you have a few hours to fill.Visit the Augusta Museum of HistoryIf you’d like to learn a little about the city while you’re here, the Augusta Museum of History covers the region’s history and some of the people and traditions that have shaped it.

GET OUTSIDE

Walk the Augusta CanalFor something a little quieter, spend some time along the historic Augusta Canal. The towpath is great for a leisurely walk, and the canal itself offers a completely different view of the city.Explore Phinizy Swamp Nature ParkTrails, wetlands, boardwalks, and plenty of wildlife make Phinizy a lovely escape just outside downtown. If you’re arriving early and the weather is nice, this would be one of my picks for a slower Friday afternoon.

The riverfront and surrounding area make an easy addition if you have more than a couple of hours to explore.See the Masters' HometownAugusta is synonymous with golf, and you'll be visiting only a few weeks before Masters Tournament week. Even though Augusta National itself isn't generally open for sightseeing, golf fans may enjoy seeing the city as it begins gearing up for its biggest annual event.

First Stop

After the “I dos,” make your way back through the gardens to the lawn.We’ll have the bar waiting, hors d’oeuvres making the rounds, and lawn games ready for a little friendly competition while we slip away for a few photographs.Grab a drink, find your favorite people, and make yourself at home. We’ll meet you there shortly.
